<itunes:summary>After a VERY long Chicago winter, we got the chance to head to Mexico for a much needed vacation in early March (yes, it’s been that long since I’ve updated the blog). Matt and Jen were originally going to join us (until her Dr. put the kibosh on that idea -- too close to the baby arriving. While we’re on that topic -- Will had another cousin join the world earlier today. Jen and Matt had their little girl--yet to be named--this morning. We’re very excited for them and can’t wait to meet the little one! Congrats to the Breedorfs!)Anyway, back to Mexico...my friend Lisa (from Kellogg) and her husband Pat and their two little boys Tucker (3.5) and William (2) joined us on our trip. We had so much fun -- the house was amazing, the tropical drinks flowed freely (thanks to mixmaster Chris) and the boys seemed to really enjoy themselves. Will really looked up to the older boys -- it was so cute to see him follow Tucker around and try to copy what he was doing. Will didn’t take to the water as easily as we had hoped (the lifevest in the picture was his choice). We’ve since enrolled him in swimming lessons and he’s getting more and more comfortable. We ask him if he wants to go swimming and he says, “yeah, wa, poo” then “poo, wa” over and over again. He’s gotten better (slowly) with going under water as well. Eventhough he was a little hesitant about the water, he loved the sand. We had a nice, low-key Easter together, just the three of us. We woke up in the morning and Will looked for his basket from the Easter bunny. It was pretty cute to watch him hunt around his room for it and then look through each item he received. We then headed to a local restaurant for Easter brunch. Like I said, pretty low-key.Oh, Will’s also taken up the harmonica in his spare time. Pretty talented, I think. :)</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>...and his Mommy does too. Or at least that’s what I tell myself when I try to come up with a reason as to why the blog hasn’t been updated in two months. Wow, has it already been 2 Months?! Time is flying by and Will is getting bigger and more grown-up every day. Where did my little baby go? Some of the highlights of the past couple of months: Will had his first big fall (I’m sure just the first of many). He faceplanted on the sidewalk. It actually looks a lot worse than it was -- he cried a bit early on, but stopped pretty quickly and didn’t cry at all when I cleaned it up.He started walking! Yes, he did take a few steps just a few days before his first birthday, but after that didn’t do much on the walking front -- just a few steps here and there. Then, last week, he decided he was tired of crawling around all this time and started walking. It is pretty cute. I thought I had a video, but can’t find it, so I’ll include one next time. In the meantime, here’s one of him walking with his Daddy. We went to this Cookie Magazine kid’s concert last week. They had a few businesses exhibiting as well, one of which was the “Rose Petal Cottage”. Will loved it and spent most of his time playing there cooking on the stove, pouring tea, putting the laundry in the washer, etc... (I’m hoping he keeps the interest and will start helping out around the house soon). The woman who was running the exhibit asked us, “how old is she?”. Pretty funny. He was so cute, I’ve included some pictures here. The bib is because he’s been drooling like crazy, if he doesn’t have one on, his shirts get soaked through within minutes. Will’s started saying a few words. “Mama” and “Dada” have become staples, although I’ve got to say, I never get tired of hearing them. He’s also been saying “DA!” for his friend, Dara, that lives a couple houses up the street (when he walks by her house he shouts, “DA, DA!!”. “Lo” for Lola and “Peeessee” for please. I’ve included a video here -- the look Will gives me at the end is the, “mom, you’re SO annoying look”...I feel the same way after hearing my running commentary on the video playback. It only gets worse in the next clip, if you can mute, I’d advise you to do so...My dad made Will an amazing toy, inspired by one he made for Matt when he was little. It’s called “the box” and is a wooden box on wheels with every sort of gadget attached to it -- bells, a steering wheel, doors that open, a mirror, etc. He sent one to Will and one to Theo as early Christmas presents. Will LOVES it. He has been playing with it non-stop, opening the doors, dropping the golf balls down the holes, etc. This video was taken just after he opened it, so he was still exploring. Now he’s found out where everything is and how it works and has devised all kinds of fun games, like hiding his stuffed animals inside and pulling them out of the top, etc. Thanks to Pops for such a meaningful, heartfelt gift.</itunes:summary>
