<itunes:summary>So I’ve recently been getting an increasing number of complaints about the amount of time in-between my episodes; there’s an obvious desire out there for me to release new mixes on a more frequent basis. Admittedly, this particular joint has taken longer than usual due to some recent events in my life that put this mix on the back-burner, but I’m going to take this as an opportunity to wax poetic about a larger issue concerning the way we listen to music in this day in age.(I’ll preface this rant by apologizing to those who will naturally be irritated by what will undoubtedly come off as “preachy”).In a nutshell, technology has both freed and crippled our idea of music. We live in an age where the ability to create and share music happens by a point and click. Consequently, with so much “new music” out there at our fingertips, our desire for more has increased to the point where we as listeners don’t LISTEN as much anymore. We end up consuming music as quickly as some happy meal we get at the drive thru. There’s no time to experience it, chew on it, or live it. Our iPods are constantly interchanging tracks and albums that it reduces what could be a timeless classic, to the drivel of elevator music. I say this because I am just as guilty of this as anyone, but I am working on not consuming music like a happy meal. So I don’t post episodes on a daily, or even weekly basis because I want to give you listeners the TIME to really listen, love, hate, and experience my music. </itunes:summary>
