We have been an admirer of Jo’s art for many years and now have the honour of bringing her work in published form to the UK. Even if people do not necessarily know Jo’s name, many folk will instantly recognise her Beautiful Worlds, full of wonderful images that it can often take a lifetime to take in, in just one picture. There are often hidden secret images to discover. Every painting is filled with exquisite imaginative colour, often portraying a special message to comfort us in our everyday lives, or reminding us of how fragile and precious Mother Nature can be. As Jo’s own dear husband Bob says, “it’s like she takes many snap shots with her eyes and can reproduce them on one canvas.” Jo’s originals are nearly always 30’x40’ and I was delighted to find that she paints with acrylics at an easel either standing or perched on a stool – (like I imagined!!). Her favourite subjects are a mystical, romantic often playful world of fairies, goddesses, mermaids, sea creatures, magicians, mythical figures, children, castles, wild animals, birds, butterflies (Jo’s favourites), trees and flowers set in fascinating oceans, multi coloured skies, enchanted forests and all graced with a lot of magic! They are extremely detailed and painted in such a way that you actually feel as though you are listening to a story as your eyes begin to absorb each colourful part and you yourself become a part of the picture.
